STAUB & CO. - SILBERMANN belongs to the top group of chemical trading companies and is represented with three locations in southern Germany. The core business is trading in chemicals.
Sustainability is one of the company's four guiding values. Protection and preservation of the environment are always in the focus of the workforce. As a contribution to nature conservation, three bee colonies were therefore established on the company premises in Gablingen in 2019.
Since the beginning of this nature-loving project, the honey obtained has been sold to the 200 employees at the three sites in Nuremberg, Gablingen and Munich. "As a company, we also want to support charitable institutions. That's why we double the sales proceeds every year," says Andreas Frank, Managing Director of STAUB & CO. - SILBERMANN GmbH.
Last year, the Gablinger bees were again busy and together with the beekeepers' association Gablingen, 55 kg of the liquid gold could be obtained. "After a low yield in 2021, we are looking forward to another good honey year in 2022," says Andreas Frank. "Our employees were able to enjoy delicious honey and do good at the same time."
From the proceeds of the honey sales and the donations of an annual company raffle, the generous amount of 3,000 € was collected last year.
The works councils of the three locations of STAUB & CO. - SILBERMANN GmbH have decided to support the following charitable institutions with € 1,000 each:
At the Krümelhof in Augsburg, animals from poor husbandry or animals rescued by animal welfare are taken in. Sponsorships can be taken over for these animals and the sponsors can visit "their" animals regularly. Especially the children who visit the Krümelhof with their families like it very much at the Krümelhof. They love the animals and learn how to handle them properly.
The Initative Krebskranke Kinder München e. V. supports and helps children with cancer and their families with talks, counseling or housing close to the clinic.
The Kinder- und Jugendhospiz Nürnberg e. V. helps children and parents during this extremely stressful phase of life with care, talks and pastoral care.
