Sustainability is firmly anchored in STAUB & CO. – SILBERMANN’s company guidelines. This resulted in the idea to establish beehives on the company’s spacious grounds in Gablingen. Although last summer’s weather conditions were not ideal for bees, we were able to harvest 50 kg of honey. Some of this was given to our customers as a taster, while the rest was sold to employees.
“To us, sustainability not only means a company strategy that is fit for the future but also includes our social responsibility towards the community,” says Andreas Frank, Managing Director of STAUB & CO. – SILBERMANN. “That’s why we decided before even building the beehives that the profits from the sale of honey will be matched by the company and donated to a different non-profit organization every year.” In addition to the profits from the sale of honey, employees also held a private donation collection.
Employees decide which organization the donations will go to: the Works Council makes the final choice out of the suggestions submitted by the workforce. This year, the total sum of €1,100 will be donated to Klabautermann e.V. in Nuremberg. The organization to support chronically ill children provides around 250 families of severely ill children with caring, professional support every year.
