Time to leave the car in the garage and get back on your bicycle, even for commuting to the office. If only the ride weren’t such a sweat-inducing strain! A good and eco-efficient alternative here are e-bikes. For one thing, they don’t involve burning fossil fuels; in fact, for every kilometer you ride on your e-bike, you save 148.4 grams of greenhouse gas emissions. Concerns about finding a parking spot and the hassle of navigating through rush-hour traffic are things of the past. But more importantly, e-bikes encourage healthy exercise – in spite of the motorized support. After all, e-bike riders can choose when they want to sweat: they can opt for the electrical support on the way to the office but then vigorously pedal their way back home after work. Statistics show that e-bikes actually promote better fitness than conventional bicycles, because e-bike riders tend to use their bike three times as often as those with traditional bicycles. So, even if the e-bike’s motor frequently takes the work off of the cyclist, the cyclist still gets much more exercise by using the bike on a regular basis.
