Restructuring measures at the Nuremberg location are progressing quickly

The restructuring at the Nuremberg location began in the fall of 2020 with dismantling a former spice mill that had existed on the site for over 90 years. Construction has been in full swing since then. With the completion of two new halls, the building progress is now also clearly visible from outside. The current focus is on the interior finishing and technical facilities.

The two new halls consist of a filling hall and an order-picking warehouse. The filling hall will serve for the filling and storage of food additives and substances that are sensitive to the cold. The order-picking warehouse will be the logistical center of the Nuremberg location. On a space covering 12,800 m², approximately 2,000 tons of chemicals can be stored and prepared for collection. The modern loading ramps enable up to four trucks to be processed at a time. The new buildings allow for a clear division between filling and storage areas. The centralized filling makes for short paths within the overall location, and the restructuring of processes shortens the processing time for both incoming and outgoing deliveries.

A further improvement at the Nuremberg location is a special container for hazardous materials, designed to store up to 20 tons of flammable liquids. This will ensure the future short-term delivery of these substances as well.

Our headquarters are not just undergoing technical refurbishments; they will also have a whole new look. The facades of the existing buildings already fit into the future appearance of Ostendstrasse, which is set to become a modern and ecologically valuable arterial road in the next five to ten years.

Even during the next construction phases, customers will experience no restrictions in being supplied with the chemicals they need. Any substances that cannot currently be stored or filled in Nuremberg due to the construction measures will be covered by the Gablingen location, near Augsburg. The whole construction process is expected to continue through March 2022. After construction is complete, our customers will benefit from state-of-the-art infrastructure and another substantial increase in performance, by approximately 20%.
