Every year, in-cosmetics is the definitive performance show for the cosmetics industry. Once again it became impressively visible that hardly any other industry shows itself so glamorous and is driven by speed and vision.

In our House of Innovations, we develop a set of formulations every year that contain our raw materials. The 2023 kit contains six cosmetic formulations that highlight current trends in the market and provide ideas for new products. Three of these formulations were exhibited at the Sensory Bar at in-cosmetics in Barcelona. Our presentation received the Silver Award. Our award formulations under the motto "ROCK SOLID":

1. Refill & Reuse Hand Wash Powder

This white powder turns into a clear green gel when dissolved with water, and can be reused as a liquid hand wash. The combination of Sodium Coco-Sulfate and Cocamidopropyl Betaine provides excellent foaming and cleaning properties. The concentrated aloe vera powder moisturizes the skin and provides long-lasting care for the hands. Sorbitol is an excellent humectant and additionally boosts the foam.

2. Melt & Pour Solid Hand Cream Bar

The formulation begins to melt in the hands. After application, the skin feels soft without being greasy. Shea butter and Cocoa Butter not only give consistency, but also provide the skin with nutrients. Squalane, Ethyhexyl Cocoate and MCT Oil moisturize and help to make the skin soft and supple. Corn Starch creates a balance between care and greasiness. This composition meets the requirements of natural cosmetics.

3. Mix & Compress Solid Shaving Foam

The combination of Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate and sugar surfactants creates a large amount of luxurious foam during application. Coconut Oil and Wheat Protein nourish and condition the skin during shaving. The skin-friendly pH protects the skin from drying out and maintains its natural moisture balance.

LUXURIACT (INCI: Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate) is a clear, pumpable liquid, free of salt and sulfate. It is a readily biodegradable, naturally derived surfactant and EU Ecolabel compliant. LUXURIACT allows the use of a mild taurate even in cold manufacturing processes. It thus meets ecological consumer trends by reducing energy use and cosmetic manufacturing time of cosmetics without sacrificing high-quality ingredients.

We are pleased to have gained a new supply partner in PROCHIMICA NOVARESE SPA, which specializes in the production of natural polyglycerol esters. These esters are produced both by transesterification of vegetable oils and butters and by direct esterification of fatty acids and alcohols. PROCHIMICA NOVARESE SPA does not only meet the current market trends in terms of sustainability and naturalness, but also offers customized solutions upon customer request.

1. How did you get into the field of Personal Care?

During and after my training, I initially spent several years working with natural oils and fats for the pharmaceutical and dietary supplement industries, but also had my first contact with cosmetic formulations. I really got into the industry during my time in Hamburg, when I was responsible for selected personal care customers in Europe in chemical distribution. I am delighted to be part of the Personal Care team at STOCKMEIER since January 2023 and have already settled in well.
