Your STOCKMEIER Personal Care Team
Looking back on 2025 – Innovation, networking, and new ideas
A dynamic year: exceptional innovation, strong partnerships, and a clear vision for the future of the cosmetics industry. With our campaign “Texture you can feel for beauty you can see,” we demonstrated how efficient formulation expertise, creative active ingredients, and sustainable raw material sourcing work together perfectly. The enthusiasm for our toolkit and the new active ingredient series was overwhelming—your feedback and the great market interest drive us to set new standards.
Innovation topic: Longevity
Holistic health and positive aging, rather than classic anti-aging, have established themselves as a central concept. Our active ingredients, which act on biological age and combat the causes of skin aging—from cell damage to oxidative stress—are in high demand.
New partnerships & active ingredients:
We have focused on our active ingredient portfolio and expanded it to include numerous innovative products. Highlights here include our collaborations with UBIB AG (liposomal active ingredients), PolyNeo GmbH (oats for sensitive skin), Maycos Italiana (protein hydrolysates), and our Aprisun range for modern UV protection.Events & outlook:

Our highlight for 2025: Hair care with natural oils and silicone alternatives

Natural oils and emollients are ideal for innovative hair and skin care products.
Sales & Product Manager Personal CareAOS as an alternative to SLES – powerful, palm oil-free, and sulfate-free
More and more consumers want sulfate-free care products, and palm oil and palm kernel oil derivatives are also coming under increasing criticism. But how can the switch be made without compromising on foam, viscosity, and skin compatibility? The answer is AOS (INCI: Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate), a powerful anionic surfactant.
What makes alpha-olefin sulfonate special?
Unlike classic sulfates such as SLES (INCI: Sodium Laureth Sulfate), AOS is a sulfonate. It is temperature-resistant, stable over a wide pH range (3–11) and impresses with its excellent foaming properties. The mild cleansing effect can be further improved by co-surfactants such as cocamidopropyl betaine (CAPB) or alkyl glucosides.
STOCKMEIER Personal Care offers you a wide range of alpha-olefin sulfonates and formulation tips.
It is possible to replace SLES with AOS, but the viscosity must be adjusted accordingly. Two approaches have proven successful:
- Adjusting the amount of co-surfactants (e.g., in the ratio of AOS to CAPB).
- Using a third co-surfactant (e.g., coco betaine or lauryl glucoside).
Both methods produce stable, viscous, and foaming formulations that are equivalent to classic SLES systems. The foam height and stability of AOS systems are at least as good as those of SLES, and often even superior. The skin compatibility of AOS is also proven in comparison to other primary surfactants.
Our AOS types offer you powerful and versatile alternatives to SLES – ideal for modern, sulfate-free rinse-off formulations. Would you like to switch your surfactant formulations from SLES to AOS or formulate a new product?

5 questions to ...
2. What do you enjoy most about your daily work?
What I enjoy most is the close collaboration within the Personal Care team. Together, we answer customer inquiries about formulation technology and regulatory issues and develop innovative product and active ingredient concepts. In this way, we make an important contribution to our customers' development projects. I find it particularly motivating when our consulting services lead to the creation of new cosmetic products and we are able to successfully sell our raw materials.
3. Which products particularly inspire you?
Our wide range of cosmetic raw materials provides a solid foundation. I am particularly fascinated by the specialty active ingredients. These include the newly added lipoencapsulated raw materials from UBIB, which impress with their stability and high bioavailability, as well as the natural extracts and oils.
4. What are your hopes for the future of the personal care sector?
For the cosmetics market, I hope that consumers will increasingly appreciate the opportunities offered by innovation and enjoy investing in products that deliver tangible added value. Working as a team, we can then jointly create new, high-quality solutions that not only set trends but also enrich everyday life.
5. How do you balance your work life?
I like to spend my free time being active. Whether it's playing volleyball at the gym – a sport I've been involved with since my youth – cycling outdoors, or hiking, climbing, or diving on vacation.
