Disinfectants Against Coronavirus

STAUB & CO. – SILBERMANN is known as the biggest chemical distributor in southern Germany. However, the company is much more than just a distributor: at its sites in Nuremberg and Gablingen, the company manufactures aqueous, solvent-based and powdered chemical products.

During the coronavirus crisis, STAUB & CO. – SILBERMANN will utilize its production capacities to manufacture increased amounts of disinfectant for hands and surfaces, which are urgently needed by the healthcare system. In order to meet the huge demand, STAUB & CO. – SILBERMANN will operate its production facilities in multiple shifts. This will enable the production and bottling of around 100,000 liters of disinfectant per day.

Most of the manufactured volume will be delivered to the logistics center of the Bavarian State Office for Health and Food Safety (LGL). Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger and Minister for Health Melanie Huml will personally ensure there are no legal obstacles preventing smooth delivery, such as the EU Biocidal Products Regulation, Sunday transport restrictions or labeling requirements.

The German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) will distribute the disinfectant directly from the LGL logistics center to the districts and independent cities in need. It will be supplied from there to hospitals, medical practices, nursing homes and care facilities, etc. The products manufactured by STAUB & CO. – SILBERMANN will then be used for the benefit of the citizens of Bavaria. “Everyone must do their bit to cope with this crisis. Here at STAUB & CO. – SILBERMANN, we are doing everything in our power to fill the shortage in the supply of disinfectants. Our employees are doing a fantastic job,” says Andreas Frank, Managing Director of STAUB & CO. – SILBERMANN.

As a volunteer member of THW, Andreas Frank is helping in efforts against the coronavirus in more ways than one: in addition to increasing production at STAUB & CO. – SILBERMANN, Andreas Frank is also working continuously in his role as the local representative for the Munich chapter of THW.
