Vinyl Copolymer Resin

Apriflex is STOCKMEIER’s product line for copolymers based on vinyl chloride and vinyl isobutyl ether (VC/VIBE). 

These resins are used as co-binders when coatings need strong adhesion, higher film hardness and broad compatibility with other raw materials. Especially in heavy-duty corrosion protection systems.

 Apriflex grades mainly differ by solution viscosity (measured as a 20 % solution in toluene at 23.2 °C). This helps to choose the right balance between handling and film strength contribution. 

The core properties are good compatibility with other coating raw materials, good pigment binding capacity even at high solids, long lasting corrosion protection, strong adhesion, and increased hardness. 

Primary application is as co- binder for heavy-duty anti-corrosion coatings. VC/VIBE copolymers are also commonly used in road marking paints and printing inks, marine and container paints.
