Acrylate-Monomers

Reactive building blocks for high-performance polymer systems

What are acrylate monomers?

A brief explanation

Acrylate monomers are essential building blocks in modern polymer chemistry and are used in a wide range of applications, including UV coatings, adhesives, printing inks, wood and textile coatings, and the synthesis of high-performance polymers.

Acrylate monomers are organic molecules derived from acrylic acid, whereby the acidic hydrogen is replaced by another group – usually an alkyl, aryl or functional group – to form an ester.

By combining different monomers, manufacturers can tailor the characteristics of the polymer to suit their specific requirements. Their structural diversity allows the mechanical, chemical and optical properties of coatings and plastics to be specifically adjusted.

Our portfolio includes reactive mono-, di- and triacrylates with specific properties – from particularly fast cross-linkability, excellent adhesion and high transparency to outstanding chemical and weather resistance. Whether for high-strength overprint varnishes, flexible printing inks or functional synthesis building blocks – we offer the right monomers for your formulations.
