Silicone products for various applications
Silicones are polymer compounds that occupy a space in between inorganic and organic compounds. The typical feature of silicone is the siloxane bond Si-O-Si, which is why the name polysiloxane is also frequently used. Silicones can be liquid, viscous or solid, depending on the chain length, the degree of branching and the hydrocarbon groups bonded to the silicium. Most silicones are water-repellent and resistant to acids.
Silicones are predominantly used as the basis for defoaming agents, mold separating agents and polishing additives, to name just a few of their many uses.
