During the visit, the student-athletes and administrative staff immersed themselves in the inner workings of the polyurethane industry. President & CEO of STOCKMEIER Urethanes USA, Chris Martinkat, led the group in a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility, where they observed the expert craftsmanship and innovation that drive STOCKMEIER’s success in the manufacturing sector.
“Welcoming these young leaders each year is something we genuinely look forward to,” said Mr. Martinkat. “Their energy, curiosity, and drive are contagious, and it’s a privilege to show them how our work in the polyurethane industry connects with real-world applications and global business.”
Key highlights included a demonstration led by Mike Kingston, R&D Chemist, who walked the group through the process of creating a running track sample. Dustin Mayle, Director of Technical Service & Development, also engaged the group with a tour of the lab and its equipment.
On the production floor, Tommy Nicholson, Production Lead, guided the visitors through STOCKMEIER’s reactor processes, detailing automation systems, chemical hazards, and essential safety protocols.
The fun continues as the Chambers Elite Climbers prepare for their upcoming visit to STOCKMEIER Urethanes in Germany this May, where they will gain global perspective on manufacturing operations and international business practices.
