Allen played a key role in helping save the life of fellow employee Gary Bowman, who suffered sudden cardiac arrest on-site. Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), Allen was able to deliver life-saving care in the critical first minutes before emergency responders arrived.
But this was far from a one-person effort—multiple team members acted quickly and decisively to assist in the rescue. In addition to Allen, Joey DeBrular, Adrienne Daniels, Cordell King, Dustin Mayle, and Darren Bunnell contributed in various ways including supporting one another during the high-stress event.
"At Cintas, we firmly believe that access to AEDs and proper training can be the difference between life and death," said Kyle Kovach, General Manager of Cintas First Aid & Safety. "Ted's swift actions, coupled with the coordinated response from our entire team, exemplify the immense value of preparation, teamwork, and courage in emergency situations. We commend STOCKMEIER for their proactive efforts in collaborating with Cintas to ensure the company was equipped with essential first aid training and tools. This level of preparedness truly made all the difference.
The Cintas Pulse Award celebrates individuals who help save lives using AEDs and emphasizes the importance of workplace safety preparedness. STOCKMEIER Urethanes remains committed to providing first aid training and resources that empower employees to act with confidence in emergencies.
“I’m incredibly honored to receive this recognition,” said Ted Allen. “But this was truly a team effort. Everyone jumped in without hesitation; it was our combined training and quick response that made the difference. I couldn’t be prouder of the people I work with.”
STOCKMEIER Urethanes extends its deepest gratitude to the team members involved and its appreciation to Cintas for recognizing the importance of lifesaving action and safety in the workplace through the Pulse Award.
