STOCKMEIER Urethanes achieves ISO 14001 certification at its European production sites

Our production facilities in Lemgo, Cernay, and Sowerby Bridge are now officially ISO 14001 certified – a major milestone towards greater sustainability, environmental responsibility, and supply chain transparency.

EU Sites of STOCKMEIER Urethanes receive ISO 14001 certifications

STOCKMEIER Urethanes is proud to announce that its European production facilities in Lemgo (Germany), Cernay (France), and Sowerby Bridge (United Kingdom) have successfully achieved ISO 14001 certification – the globally recognized standard for environmental management systems.

With this achievement, all five STOCKMEIER Urethanes production sites worldwide are now certified under rigorous environmental standards. Our European locations, as well as our facility in Dubai (UAE), are ISO 14001 certified, while our U.S. facility in Clarksburg, West Virginia, holds RC 14001® certification – an American Chemistry Council standard that combines ISO 14001 with additional requirements for health, safety, and security.

These certifications underline the company’s long-term commitment to sustainability, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement throughout the entire value chain.

Internationally Recognized Environmental Standard

ISO 14001 is the world’s leading standard for environmental management systems. It requires a structured approach to identifying and assessing environmental impacts, ensuring legal compliance, and continuously optimizing ecological processes. The certification requires, among other things:

  • A documented and effectively implemented environmental management system
  • Identification and mitigation of environmental risks
  • Compliance with all applicable environmental regulations
  • Measurable environmental objectives and a continuous improvement process

With the European certifications now in place, all five STOCKMEIER Urethanes production sites operate under globally recognized environmental management standards.

A Global Effort Fueled by Teamwork

This achievement was made possible through close, cross-site collaboration within the STOCKMEIER Urethanes Group. At the heart of this effort was the European IMS team (Integrated Management Systems), led by Cécile Bruyère, Head of IMS EMEA and site lead for Cernay, along with her team:

  • Julia Scholl, IMS Site Manager in Lemgo
  • Laura Whitton, Quality Manager in Sowerby Bridge

The team worked closely with colleagues at the already certified sites, particularly:

  • Nikita Sequeira, Inside Sales Officer in Dubai
  • Vanessa Thorn, Strategic Initiative Manager in the USA

Thanks to their strong commitment, expertise, and trusted cooperation, the certification project was completed smoothly and successfully.

“Achieving ISO 14001 certification at our European sites is a proud milestone for STOCKMEIER Urethanes. It reflects our ongoing dedication to environmental stewardship and our ambition to operate responsibly and sustainably across all locations.”

says Cécile Bruyère.
