Sustainability at STOCKMEIER

Sustainability is at the heart of the STOCKMEIER business strategy. We deliver sustainable solutions that help our customers achieve business results while minimizing environmental and social impact.  

Our greatest contribution is through the products and services we provide so we focus on continuously improving to optimize both the solutions we provide to customers, as well as our own operations. Wee aim to meet the needs of our customers and grow our business as sustainably as possible, this means meeting our development goals while simultaneously considering the ability of natural systems to provide the natural resources upon which we, the economy and society depend.

Furthermore we aim for our use of resources to continue to meet customer needs without undermining the integrity and stability of the natural system. It’s trying to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations.

Strategic purchasing of chemicals is one of the essential tasks in the chemical trade. This area can not only be attributed a leverage effect in pricing, but also in influencing the entire supply chain in a sustainable sense. Acting sustainably is a conscious decision and for STOCKMEIER it means taking responsibility. We have set ourselves ambitious goals so that we benefit today and future generations later.

We have been actively working with EcoVadis since September 2020. In the first comprehensive assessment, we achieved a silver ranking (there are bronze, silver, gold + platinum). EcoVadis is much more than an evaluation platform for us. It offers us a targeted, well thought-out way to fully integrate sustainability into STOCKMEIER's procurement processes in the long term.

We prefer to send invoices electronically (e-billing). Together with our customers, we save paper and postage.

We charge a postal surcharge for sending paper invoices. Part of this surcharge has a sustainable effect: for every paper invoice, we donate EUR 1.00 to regional projects that benefit our environment and in East Westphalia. In the past, we have already supported the important reforestation project "Ein Stück Bielefelder Wald" (A piece of Bielefeld Forest), for example.

This Sustainability Report of the STOCKMEIER Group covers the reporting period from 1 March 2024 to 28 February 2025. Against the background of the postponement of binding reporting obligations by the European Union, the STOCKMEIER Group is publishing the Sustainability Report for the 2024/2025 financial year voluntarily and proactively.

In doing so, we are guided by the EU's VSME framework (Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) in order to ensure a high level of comparability and to optimally prepare for future reporting in accordance with the ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards) in the coming years.
