Following the conclusion of the fire service operation on Friday evening, the precautionary evacuation of the industrial estate was lifted on Saturday morning. All five injured employees were able to leave hospital as early as Friday. Once the clean-up work has been completed and clearance has been granted by the authorities, operations are to be resumed gradually, with customers temporarily being supplied via other sites within the group. According to the information currently available, there was no apparent environmental damage. The authorities’ investigations are ongoing.

Stockmeier announced close cooperation with the authorities and a comprehensive review of the incident. “Together with the authorities, we will carefully analyse the accident and use the insights gained to continuously improve our processes and technical safety measures.” The safety of employees and the surrounding community is the company’s top priority.
